#1 – Diana Ross w “Love Hangover”
“Love Hangover” is a song by the Motown singer Diana Ross, recorded in 1975 and released as a single on March 16, 1976. It rose to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot-Selling Soul Singles. It also hit number one on the Record World disco charts.
#2 – Wings w “Silly Love Songs”
“Silly Love Songs” was written as a rebuttal to music critics who had criticized McCartney for writing lightweight love songs. “Silly Love Songs” was released in the US on 1 April 1976 and spent five non-consecutive weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was released in the UK on 30 April 1976 and reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart.The song reached No. 1 on the Irish Singles Chart on 27 May.
#3 – Elvin Bishop w “Fell Around and Fell in Love
“Fooled Around and Fell in Love” is a song written and performed by blues guitarist Elvin Bishop with Mickey Thomas on lead vocals. It appeared on his 1975 album Struttin’ My Stuff, and was released as a single the following year. It peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in May 1976. The record was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on June 23, 1976. In Canada, the song reached #22 on the singles chart and #8 on the Adult Contemporary chart. The single reached #3 in the New Zealand Singles Chart.
