Not Theirs

Daily writing prompt
Do you practice religion?

My Beliefs are Not Yours

I do not practice religion in ways that other people find normal and why should I? Who back whenever told the population that having a human tell you that you had to follow their unique style of beliefs or burn in hell ?

Jesus, I doubt that he told the high priests to beg for as much money as possible every Sunday so they could afford a new steeple on the church and two years later it is still needing replaced while Pastor Henry is driving a new Lexus.

Matthew 18:20 – For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”

My religion is spiritual and my connection with my higher power is more of a one on one basis. I don’t feel the need to be judged by people who wear blinders and don’t open the heart to different ideas or views regarding Jesus and God.

Point blank I am saying that the Lord blesses me multiple times daily and in turn I give thanks multiple times daily. When I do something that doesn’t agree with our savior Karma shows me that as well as showing me blessings when I do righteous acts of kindness or peace.

So yes, I guess I do practice religion, just not the run of the mill belief that I must follow human beliefs of someone who is not on the same path as me. If at the Pearly Gates Saint Peter tells me I was mistaken I will have to face the consequences of my actions and pay those extra dues, if not will I be escorted in paradise while I watch Father “alter boy rapist” and Pastor ” I slept with your wife” take the big U-Turn in the sky and follow AC DC “On the road to Hell?”

Only time will tell us brothers and sisters, only time will tell.

Have a great and blessed day no matter what you believe about this prompt. until next time,

  1. Religion is so broad, Ernie. My husband and I were raised going to church, and then we raised our children the same way. But we don’t go anymore because a few members soured our experience. So, I think we’ve reached the end of the trail to organized religion, but it doesn’t mean we don’t believe. We just question more, and when we’re ‘on the trail’ or in the company of nature, that’s when we believe in something bigger than us. 😁
