Waking up to a brand New Year tomorrow, I promise myself to make the most of it. As I celebrate New Years on February sixth each year, it is always a good day, no hangovers from New Years eve for six years now.
I am amazed and grateful each year when I wake up and find I made it another 365 days revolving around the sun on top of the soil. This will be a day for me to reflect on the last year and see if I made any progress in my journey. Last year on this day found me making resolutions which I will do tomorrow also.
My resolutions list is never just one thing but more like a list of chores that need to be done on cleaning day, just more time to accomplish them. The lazy dawg that I am, I’m finding a couple of those with an out of date sticker on them.
Round 369,367 on quitting the smoking habit. They say you can teach old dawgs new tricks but I haven’t figured how to master the art of not chasing a cancer stick, “bad dawg”. I also haven’t been doing much exercise this year, well physically anyway but the mind has gotten a great work-out this past year.
I opened the ‘Dawg House’ on February 28th as one of my goals. I didn’t expect much from it more than a place to leave thoughts my kids could read after I was gone. It has transformed into a place where fantastic family and friends are found. A goal never imagined came into view soon after and has been growing daily. I thank you all with dawgy licks and paw shakes. I mean that from the heart.
I did okay with the weight loss, dropped forty and put 15 back on over the year and I’m cool with that. Slow like a tortoise with this is the best belly rub I’ve found. My goal was met at 225lbs. but has since climbed back to 234.
I’ve constantly changed the Dawghouse over this time period and am now chained to this version for a minute, I like the black background. WordPress can be challenging sometimes and we all feel the frustration involved but it still blows Facebook away. A very happy goal achieved deleting my account although I miss the family and friends there.
Since tomorrow is and always has been my ideal day I am posting this as my answer to today’s prompt. I’ll leave you with a couple of images I liked over this last year. I have 2227 images so I picked 18 instead of three.
