I sit in angst as my mind is in a battle with itself. I don’t know what to do about my Lincoln automobile.
The battery took a shit and was replaced two months ago. It ran fine until a cold snap about a month ago. Then it wouldn’t stay running for more than 15-20 seconds. I thought at first that my fuel lines froze but with over a half a tank and a bottle of Heet in it that wasn’t it.

Okay, Larry, a friend and I take the battery back and have an argument with them as it was only thirty days old. They tell me they need to put it on a charger and let it sit for 2 hours before they can tell me anything. I’m like, “Ain’t no way I’m sitting here for two hours for you to tell me what I’m telling you !”
I wanted to just swap it out for another one but they wouldn’t do that. After putting it on a load they grudgingly refunded my money.
I go down the street to O’Reilley’s and buy another new battery and come home, hook it up and bingo…it does the same thing.
After cussing the car gods I leave it sit, as one forty degree day isn’t spring and another cold front moves in. After another week of below freezing temps I get a warm enough day to try it again.
I put a new terminal on the positive side and it runs a little bit longer before shutting off. Okay making progress, Now I need to replace the negative cable as it is corroded
Again a cold front moves from Chicago across that damn lake bringing more sub zero temps, [enough Willie, I love ya but keep that damn cold air over there!!!]

I ordered a negative cable and have it shipped. It arrives today, the last of two 50 degrees days before we slip back into hells cold ass temps. In between raindrops, I put the new cable on, secure everything, and voila!
It still doesn’t run. I call Larry, my mechanic friend who helps me on my car and he is lost too, He looked at the codes and cleared them but nothing was there so it doesn’t make any sense.

I sit in here fuming over it and think, maybe it’s the alternator. Eliminating what I can one by one I hope to get this shit worked out before spring really gets here.
I believe this rant answers the prompt as these series of failures ensure success when warm weather arrives.
This rant behind me
Now behind you too
Hope I didn't ruin
This fine day for you
As I feel much better
No longer Code Blue
