Peaceful Insanity Defined

A glance into the past, present, and future of the Dawghouse Blog.

Good morning, friends and foes, Happy Monday! [3-4 minute read]

I want to get into some thoughts from this altered mind today. I often look back on my past and reminisce on the fun and good times we all lived through in what to me were the best times since WW2. Some of it is before my time, but close enough for rock & roll.

Okay, maybe not rock & roll, but its predecessors, Big Band, swing, R&B, and Country. My parents’ generation was fresh out of a world war and looking for something to do besides sit around the farm on Saturday night.

The alternative? Barn dances and baby making. I’m pretty sure that our parents’ parents didn’t want to hear the noise, or maybe thought their kids had lost their minds, dancing the Charleston, acting like fools.

My Generation was split into two parts. Baby boomers changed the world more than once by defying the norm, trying new ideas, and bending strings in a new fashion. Fast cars, rebelling against political injustices, and new age technology. Sure, my generation was involved in two wars, but they call them conflicts now. Many people didn’t like things the “Hippies” were doing to open society’s eyes, but it happened anyway, the beat goes on…

Flash forward to the end of the century. After ten years or so, technology exploded, leaving many of us behind with no clue of what the future held. [Y2K anyone?] I was tearing up the byways of America, not having the time or patience for computers or the life of virtual anything.

This all changed in 2011 when I stopped running and settled down to care for my mother in her last stage of life. Four years of providing her 24/7 care left me with plenty of time on my hands, no longer being able to ‘run the streets’ anymore.

I joined the world of online life. I left the life of Farcebook after my mom passed and went back into nature, enjoying life in Southern Alabama. In 2017, I relocated to Michigan, retiring in 2022/23? [mad cow, they call me Crane, Denny Crane”] 🤪

Anyway, I was surfing Farcebook daily and falling into a rut. In February of 2024, I got an account here and quickly found AI to make images. After awhile I got fairly decent at making these and using them outside of the NTT spectacular that Kevin used to put out weekly. This site also led to 2 books of poetry being written and published. All the images in both books were generated with the help of AI.

I now find myself knee-deep in the process of turning my poetry into music using [Yep, you guessed it, AI]. I quickly developed a passion for learning what I can and making audio clips and videos to share here and on YouTube. People have asked if I was singing the songs, and at that point, the answer was an astounding no. Today, however, I am announcing that the video here is the finished product of my imagination and ability.

My Process: I write every poem from scratch. The voice you hear is a recording of my own voice to serve as the “Vocal DNA” for my song. I then utilize Suno (Pro) to craft music that complements the mood of the verse, resulting in a finished video that I consider a true creation.

“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” – John F. Kennedy

I understand people not wanting to acknowledge AI as real progress, but again, they never dreamed that flying cars were possible in the 60s, and yet progress has made them available today. Life evolves, leaving us to adapt or die. So with a phone in your pocket and the world at your fingertips, welcome to the age of Barking Beats.

This is Tales. It can be found in Silent Screams page 105. The chorus was written over the weekend. Please excuse the imperfections in the video, I am still learning.
