Cuts of Vinyl or The Revolving Jukebox Choices

A top ten list of songs…sounds interesting John.

Here are this week’s prompts: or the one I chose to answer in this post.

#6 – Write a top-ten article listing your favorite songs or albums with short explanations of why each one won a spot on your list. *I’m going with songs.

#10 – Roger Miller – This one was a fun song to listen to as a child. We often danced to this when dad wasn’t around.

# 9 – Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen – This little boogie song was upbeat and could rev my blood up as a teenager.

#8 – Jefferson Airplane – This song pretty much defines my entrance into the wastelands of my teens.

#7 – The Who – This song woke me up to a new reality living in Cali in the late seventies.

#6 & #5

Led Zeppelin – I mean this band had a huge impact on me with their unbelievable music.

#4 – Genesis – This was/is a top favorite band that offered to many choices as they showed raw talent in not only their music but in the concerts showmanship.

– Steely Dan – who didn’t love the sound these guys put down, it moved me deep in my soul.

– The Pretty Reckless – these guys entered this list as a newer band that makes my feet want to slide across the floor.

– Here Come The Mummies – today I close this list with a song that moves me into a great mood every time I listen to it.

This is in no way a complete list as my song list spans over 50+ years. I didn’t touch on so many songs that should be in here and if I tried it again could easily replace all of these. No Beatles or Joe Cocker? not today. Thanks John for giving us such a tough prompt.
