Order and Organization
Now that I’ve gotten kinda comfortable with this site and what I can’t do with it I have decided to organize it to more stable posts on certain days. I will dedicate each day to a certain category and join the mainstream instead of randomly posting each day.
Going forward not all days will have a dedication at first but will change as I grow. I have removed posts I thought were inappropriate for viewing and will continue to re-visit what’s left to ensure I am not offending with my views. Along with Daily prompts I will try to fill each day differently.
Since this is the start of new directions I think I will call it TDawg Whistles to follow the direction of my blog site. From now forward sound will fill this day’s post.
Thanx to all of you that read and/or follow my posts, you guys Rock!
3 Tunes to Tune Into
Cousin Dupree (2000)
This choice is from Steely Dan’s comeback album Two Against Nature, Becker and Fagen later claimed the premise of the movie “You Me and Dupree” was stolen from this song.
Becker and Fagen met in 1967 in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. As Fagen passed by a café, The Red Balloon, he heard Becker practicing the electric guitar. He introduced himself to Becker and asked, “Do you want to be in a band?” Discovering that they enjoyed similar music, the two began writing songs together.
Debuting with “Can’t Buy A Thrill in 1972 which brought us “Reelin in the Years” and “Do It Again”. They continued to sooth my soul with their music throughout their careers.
he Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. The Founding members were Glenn Frey (guitars, vocals), Don Henley (drums, vocals), Bernie Leadon (guitars, vocals), and Randy Meisner (bass guitar, vocals) . Seven Bridges Road is a song written by American musician Steve Young, recorded in 1969 for his Rock Salt & Nails album. The Eagles recorded their version in 1980. Seven Bridges Road is an ode to Woodley Road (County Road 39, Montgomery County, Alabama), a rural two-lane road which runs south off East Fairview Avenue – “I have rode my cycle down this road many times.”
Genesis were an English rock band formed at Godalming, Surrey, in 1967.
Genesis were among the pioneers of progressive rock. The group were formed by five Charterhouse pupils, including Banks, Rutherford, Gabriel and guitarist Anthony Phillips, and named by former Charterhouse pupil and pop impresario Jonathan King, who arranged for them to record several singles and their debut album From Genesis to Revelation in 1969.
Banks, Rutherford and Gabriel recruited Collins and Hackett before recording Nursery Cryme in 1971. Their live shows began to feature Gabriel’s theatrical costumes and performances. Foxtrot released in 1972 was their first charting album in the UK and Selling England by the Pound followed in 1973 reached number three there. The concept album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974) was promoted with a transatlantic tour and an elaborate stage show, before Gabriel left the group. With between 100 million and 150 million albums sold worldwide, Genesis are one of the world’s best-selling music artists. Their discography includes 15 studio and 6 live albums. They have won numerous awards (including a Grammy Award for Best Concept Music Video with “Land of Confusion”) In 2010, Genesis were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
