Trim and Gutter phtttttt…

Schools In Session

What does it take to understand that school is in session and I have to cram and get cheat sheets to proceed. No, I am not talking about WordPress and those there dreaded blocks I complain about but the insane idea that if I could master those stumbling blocks or at least crawl over them then I could take another giant step.

I Thought Maybe

Ok, So I have been here before. Back in 2012 I believe, I had tried to start a blog and did so so with it while caring for my mother who suffered from Alzheimer’s. After she passed in 2014 I gave up on such silliness and moved on to browner pastures if you will.

After a couple of years of letting other people control my life’s direction I had an epiphany in which it became clear I needed to ride. I packed all my belongings, put them in storage and scooted my ass out of Alabama.

No Clear Direction

With no more of a plan than to ride, I went from Montgomery AL. west into Mississippi then Arkansas. Putting wind in my face and camping out in State Parks for a couple of months which cleared my head a bit and gave me some idea of what to do with my life.

I ended up riding up through Missouri and Illinois into Indiana where I stopped and hung out with my niece and her husband “Ray and Cheryl Bennet”. These guys were a blast to visit and I was a little sad when the time came to fire up “Ester” and put some more rubber down.

I ended up in Michigan visiting old friends and decided to stay after I was offered a job managing a glass pipe shop. Frank’s dream was coming true and he let me in on the ground floor. I ran this great shop until I retired 4 years ago and started this journey they call retirement.

Into The Bliss

I can’t really call this a job as it is a hobby and very relaxing for me to trim the leaves and shape the growth of this miraculous plant. I spend hours in the grow picking the big leaves off to allow sunshine to reach the buds. This sadly is coming to an end due to health complications of the owner and recently I decided to start this blog.

I have jumped off the deep end in trying to get this thing going and am learning at a fast pace and stumbling now and again. I have however found a new “strength, direction, path” whatever you want to call it.

Confidence Ramp Up

So here I go trying to make a worthwhile site and have succeeded in getting it to pass my expectations. Then “BAM” I get my first subscriber! Dawn Pastrino is a world wide author and mentor to me helping build my confidence along with encouragement about my poems. So as I try and build this blog into something others will enjoy and engage in I also want to build a book from my collection of poems. A long and winding road.

Stumbling Blocks 101 will be my next post in this series as I move forward. Thanx for taking the time to read this long post and comment if you wish.
