Depends on the friend
No I’m not talking about someone running around in adult diapers!

I have very few friends as I set my standards kinda high for someone to join this elite club.
I don’t believe that I can throw all of my friends in the same group based on one question. My friends all have different qualities that attract friendship. Yes loyalty ranks at the top of the list but other qualities count just as much. Qualities such as humor or accountability rank just as high as loyalty and Honesty Honesty is a very important quality every person should have but alas that is not the norm in today’s world.
A “Dawgs Life”

I have been called “Ernie Dawg” since the early 80s and earned that nickname because of my loyalty to my friends and the fact that I could be meaner than a junkyard dog that hasn’t had a human snack in over a month.

Making friends with a junkyard dawg can go one of two ways and it is the same with me. When I first meet someone my protection mode along with the ability to sniff out bullshit mode is on high alert but can be diffused with love and humor. After becoming a acquaintance with someone the basis of friendship is examined more closely. I know there are folk out there that after 5 minutes claim your besties and to me they are like that depends diaper in the photo above, sooner or later you will find them full of shit.
Earn It!

For one thing, a friend has to earn that title and position in life. This is not accomplished overnight. It takes time and experiences to form a unbreakable bond between two people. And yes, you are developing a strong bond every time you get together and do anything or nothing. And doing nothing while not being bored is a trait only true friends can accomplish for very long.
So as in the beginning of this post I say again, My friends all have different qualities that attract friendship.
As you read this and made it this far might I add – May your coffee cup remain hot and full and may the good Lord bless this day for you.
