Nighttime Mischief

Steampunking through the sky looking for mischief in the night
My pet dragon flew slow showing the town an exciting night flight
He passed the lit up square of Union station and moved east
Out across the expanse of time looking for a tasty evening treat
The black smoke coming out of the steam fueled train captured his eye
He dipped low and made a horrific sound as he slowly passed by
The train wasn't stopping but rather gaining more speed as it went
My pet dragon's temper was getting short and he felt completely spent
Needing food for energy that was being rapidly used up in this night flight
The dragon didn't pause as he banked a slow sweeping turn to the right
People in town started running to find some safe spot to hide and wait
And so the scene played out on another Saturday night's game of fate
Ms. Jones

Ms. Jones was walking in the city with feelings weighing on her mind
A grenade in her hand she was waiting to pull the pin and let it fly
Another man had broken her tender heart and had let her down
And she felt tired of living in this fashion and wanted to end this town
As she stood in the middle of the street deciding which path to take
A shadow darkened the sky and had her thinking it may be a mistake
If she pulled the pin destruction and mayhem would soon be found
And this city would become nothing more than a wasted feeding ground
Ms. Jones made eye contact with the dragon and watched as he winked
My coffee just ran out so give me a second to refresh my empty drink
And I as I return with a nice fresh cup of my morning's thick muddy juice
We find the dragon and Ms. Jones dancing and letting the feelings loose

At the end of the confused Saturday night in this made up town
Ms. Jones was found flaunting the trophy they had won around
Feeling good now that she knew love was back in her heart tonight
She jumped on the back of her lover and they flew out of sight
