Out Of Gas

Daily writing prompt
What have you been putting off doing? Why?

Starting off this Saturday’s prompt out of gas.

I have been struggling with the decision to let the gypsy blood flow free once again. I want to travel to a new destination where warmth survives. Where the winter blues are not as harsh.

I have done this many times in this journey. Yet, as I age, it seems to get harder and harder to make this choice. Once out on the road my spirits usually improve but this time around there are other things to consider.

My family and friends rarely connect with me these days. Starting over is a tough choice. Deciding on which part of the country to go to isn’t the same as when I was young. Back then, I would throw a dart at the Atlas.

Then there is my book to consider. I really can not be bouncing around the country trying to set up my presence as an author. It might be possible if I wanted to do signings or readings. Let’s be real. That’s not who I am.

Even if I filled up the tank with petrol, I am not be ready to hit cruise control. So, I’ll keep putting it off. Anyway I look at it, I need to wait until spring. This ol’ dawg becomes a bear in the winter months, hibernating inside.
