Pet This…

Daily writing prompt
What is good about having a pet?

Most pets show love and gratitude to their owner for caring for them and most will offer protection fiercely standing up for the one that loves them.

Take this little sucker for instant. They can bite you seven times before you noticed they stopped barking. A gentle lapdog that enjoys a quiet surrounding and are a breed that offers one on one companionship.

Or this bundle of cuteness. Do they not offer you laughter and joy keeping you amazed by the antics they can come up with. The feelings of happiness that kittens give you is much needed when they grow into adults and test the limits of your patience but who could ask for a better protector of your home? That’s right, if it moves it needs to be investigated and played with. A cat will keep your house free of rodents and small insects all the while letting you believe that you are the master instead of vice versa.

These guys get a bad rap but are quiet loveable and show an amazing amount of affection. Once the stink sack is removed they can be loyal melting your heart. Before I close this post I want to look at the other side of skunks

In this age of instant gratification people seem to forget the reasonability involved in caring about anything longer than the next video game player out on the market. Love is too often mistaken for false ambitions of pleasing pets for a short time and then exposing them to a world of pain and abandonment.

Pets are abused far too often in this world, left to starve or being beaten for only wanting love and affection which they return one thousand fold. The upcoming holidays are a bad rap for pets because thoughtless people will buy a pet making false promises to themselves about loving the animal or giving it to children without thinking of the future of the pet.

So maybe the question should be, What is good about my owner?

With this post done I think I’ll go chew on a milk bone and relax, have a peaceful insanity kind of day my human friends.
