This dawg took a trip, time to leave another Michigan storm behind
A lay over in the windy city I met up with Leo who is a friend of mine
The effects of Chicago's wintery life had both of us feeling depressed
We decided to hop on an Amtrak and take our furry bodies due West

No more snowflakes to deal with, the weather would improve as we went
The sunshine of Oregon was calling us and we picked up a welcomed scent
A football game was scheduled for the team known as the mighty ducks
Frances kicked us out the door smiling, wishing us both the best of luck

Crossing the great plains that were covered entirely with white stuff
We were looking forward to better weather because we both had enough
Bones creaking in the night from another full blown Mid-West storm
Leo presented his case on moving somewhere it was year around warm

Soothing rattles and hums brought on another peaceful feeling of delight
After going through two tunnels we found a damn fine morning surprise
Snow didn't cover the ground and a forest of green was what we both seen
A day for celebration had us laughing, neither one of us feeling very mean

Grace and hope flowed through our blood streams Leo so excited to see
The stadium in Eugene Oregon brought him complete peaceful insanity
Green and yellow uniforms were prominent as the team came on the field
This was the day of reckoning as I heard Leo the lion let out a joyous squeal

When the sun rose in the morning I awoke from another peaceful dream
Finding myself drinking coffee, snow showing through the window screen
I don't look forward to the lake effect weather coming in off Lake Michigan
So I sit here sipping my joyous java thinking of another tale I want to spin
