Late start today and the beginning has me over at John Holton’s for the writers workshop

Here are this week’s prompts:

Write a post based on the word diets.
- Write a post in exactly 11 lines (sentences).
- Write about something you’re looking forward to in April.
Besides your life, your health, your house, and your car, what else do you insure (or, if you don’t, what would you like to insure)? Why?
- Take two books. Open each one to a random page and point at a random sentence. Use one sentence to start your story and the other to end your story. Write the story in the middle.
Write about the most recent time you went to a sporting event.
Choose one of the prompts (or as many as you want) and write a post on your blog that addresses that prompt.

#2/3- 11 sentences/looking forward to

Hash Bash is an event in Ann Arbor Michigan. It happens on the first Saturday in April of each year. The last time I was able to attend this event was before COVID. The fun we had walking around meeting so many diverse people is amazing.

I get so high when I’m there, I forget who I’m with sometimes. There are live bands playing on different stages with give aways, like mystery seeds. The classic buildings on campus are beautiful and amazing to look at. After a afternoon spent walking around the campus of Michigan, not Michigan State, I am restfully worn out. Then, there is the drive home. Is it worth the time and money spent? Bet your sweet bibby it is.

#5 Two books.

First book and sentence-The Ultimate Game by Ralph Glendinning, pg. 157. “Seated across from the Rock on a matching white leather couch, separated by a glass coffee table, were two beautiful young ladies.

Second book and sentence-Our Iceberg is Melting by John Kotter. pg. 19. “He did not see any solution.’

In The Middle

Seated across from the Rock on a matching white leather couch, separated by a glass table, were two beautiful young ladies. The Rock had been sitting in this lounge for almost an hour and was getting restless as they continued to watch him.

His source had given him the date and time to be here to receive the package that was to put him on easy street. His buyer would be getting anxious if he didn’t report back to him soon. If this didn’t pan out the way it was supposed to, he would be in a world of shit.

The two ladies sitting on the couch came over and invited him to the freakers ball. He wrote a hasty note on a napkin and left it on the table hoping his connection would understand He did not see any solution other than to please the ladies.
