Another Saturday Night

As Sunday morning brings peaceful Insanity back to normal levels, I am proud to share a post featuring “Auggie Dawgy” my oldest son Derek writing his debut poetry as a collaboration with his ol’ dawgy daddy.

We started out on a fine spring afternoon
Four hits into a Saturday night rendezvous
Cleaning the albums, feeling the groove
Music and visuals making our minds move

Every time I go on one of these beautiful trips
I find the comfort of my world starts to slip
Come scream with us into the frozen glitches
Come play with us, we'll leave you in stitches

Or on a whim we can turn this vision around
Bring in the boogieman to help you get down
Visions flow free from duo altered minds
Showing love in true Dawgy fashion rhyme

Doing a debut with my dad makes me think
Can my visions spell out my thoughts with ink
This trip is getting very intense on my brain
So I'll turn it over to dad for the next quatrain

Van Halen is rockin' this Dawghouse with sound
We are jammin' out to the great "Diver's Down"
Moving quicker than speed of light, strings bend
Eddie taking us to the edge of insanity once again

Music frees the soul exposing the truth of hallucinations
We can and will be exceeding your wildest fascinations
Artists showcase their talent everyday with words of hope
If this is a failure, is there a window of love to help us cope?

As the old dawg goes in and lays down in the pound
Its time to hear Auggie dawgy bark and hound,
My mind steadily slipping into unknown space
Listening to the blues puts me in my happy place

A steady plateau as my mind now starts to ease
I'll always remember why I love the earth and trees
And to God I always say thank you and please
As a tear starts to drop, life isn't always a breeze

Thanking Uncle Ron Dawg for leaving us the tunes
These new tabs, leave you running like eating prunes
I'm off to enjoy the wonderful world of life's dreamland
Enjoy the weekend doing exactly what you plan

Thank you for reading our debut piece of silliness

Some have claimed that the first letters of Lucy, Sky and Diamonds supposedly refer to LSD, the famous hallucinogen that forms the kaleidoscope of thought and visuals used in this post tonight.
