Inside the Arena

This is an entry to Kevin’s NTT. The first of ? to come. Thanx Kevin!!!

The distinction between a wannabe nobody and a legitimate contender is often settled on a battlefield weather in a colosseum, back alley bar dive, or in the mind.

When the pre games festivities had ended the first contest was getting underway. What was thought to be an insignificant fight set the tone for the most exciting event of the clock 3:33 A.M. Hatred brewed deep since birth between two siblings and the day had finally come to settle their differences for the last time.

A chaulky line in the center of the arena marked the spot they would meet and start the battle of control. This afforded the emperor the best view possible to watch the blood spill at ground level. Emperors often watched unending challenges in the form of civil wars, This day of violent inner satisfaction relaxed him and he didn’t consider the outcome to be that significent.

Two warriors start slowly circling each other, picking up speed into a dance, With swords of words they ripped into each other like a pair of lions gaining and losing control as the battle raged on. What started out as a quick entry into the first spot of the contest lasted for over nine minutes.

When all was said and done the senior emperor slowly registered that whatever the out come of events, consequences would one day have to be paid. The answers were becoming clear when the alarm clock woke me up.
