On May 2nd 1990 I sat on a bar stool at the American Legion feeling melancholy while sipping a beer. My wife was in labor and close to accouchement with our first child. The doctor told me to leave the waiting room as she was going to have a C section and I couldn’t be in the room during the operation. I stormed out of the hospital in a huff.
On the morning of May 3rd I went back to the hospital to see my first born son. As I held him for the first time it was surprising how handy I was at adapting to being a father. Shortly after, I got on my knees and prayed to our hallowed father above for the joy he was placing in my journey. This was and is the most favorite moment of my life.
