My first entry into this weeks NTT, Kevin has outdone himself for the holiday edition and I plan on taking advantage of a few of these.
Tell Me The Answer

This is the land that buffalo once roamed
I'm damned proud to call this place home
Our forefathers that came before you and me
Murdered the native people so we could feel free
Stealing all they could and grabbing up land
Killing and slavery seemed to go hand in hand
Placing the natives on a piece of barren earth
Is this why we celebrate the American birth?
It seems to me we've looked at this all wrong
Praising the violence in independence songs
Looking out over Wounded Knee Creek I cried
For all the lost souls our history has had to hide
They made up some rules and called them the law
Two hundred years later women burned their bras
Between all that time and where we stand at now
War has governed the way Americans stand tall
So as you sit underneath the stars watching the sky
Think about freedom and how many have had to die
Look around the world to help you better understand
Freedom is only achieved by killing your fellow man
I'm damned proud to call America my native home
We have always been a nation where murders roam
Happy Fourth of July…or is it?
*** Thanx Nancy for this perfect suggestion. ***
