Let Me Count the Ways

This was written on August 31st, I found it in the draft pile and after reading it decided to put it out here.

Daily writing prompt
Why do you blog?

February 28th 2024 – I was stuck in a rut for years on a daily grind of sharing memes and risking viruses while being controlled with what I could post on that dreadful site F*&kbook and I got bored. I opened a free account and decided that I could write stuff that maybe my kids would read later in life after I was gone. That lasted a hot second before I was in the premium plan and at a loss as to what to do with this site.

I started posting poems then moved to politics, music, and eventually telling bits about my past. The bug quickly bit me and I found a voice, a page that could be mine, all mine, unlike that Farcebook site that controlled everything I would post.

It wasn’t long after that I was like Stella and found my groove. I found pleasure in reading other peoples views on life and the entertaining posts they left behind. My little blog started taking on a life of it’s own and sure enough I was looking forward to writing posts everyday.

That was then.

I found a challenge when I met Kevin over on The Beginning at Last and nervously posted my first NTT response. It grabbed my attention from the git go and changed my direction on this site. Soon after SpillWords published my first poem and I started believing maybe this is something I was supposed to be doing, beat the shit out of playing a game or fighting with the “A” holes who think they are a god over others with what is supposed to be a social platform, but in reality is a virus sending, controlling bot system that doesn’t really care about you, Yes Farcebook again.

Today I enjoy sharing my altered thoughts in the many challenges I do, writing poetry and telling bits of my past. I have done some reviews on books and follow some great people on here. Friends have been made and I look forward to hearing what is on their minds.

I’m old, grumpy at times and not into the bar scene anymore so what’s an old dog to do? Push keys on a keyboard and let the fun continue, I am behind on reviews today as two of them are on my list.

I have my paws in many bowls and like any good dawg I am trying to maintain a routine that my master would approve of, yes I still jump the fence when the mood strikes but now a days it’s more like sitting on the porch and barking madly on my PC aka blog. Every dawg must know his place, mines here.
