Sweet Dreams

Mom and Dad worn out from the excitement
Putting all the treats into safe confinement
The kids jumping up and down on their beds
Sleeping the furthest thing from their heads

Plastic buckets of candy are filled to the brim
Dads ready to read from the Brothers Grimm
Jack o' Lanterns flames slowly burning away
Mom wants the kids to sleep, they want to play

Costumes and masks scattered across the floor
Telling tales of Halloween's fun night once more
Finally Mom and Dad get the children to sleep
And then enjoy their own tasty nightmare treats

Cauldrons attracting spiders as they cool down
The black cats and rabbits cruising around town
Witches cruising through the cold nighttime sky
Searching for stragglers before saying goodbye

Feeling frantic mom screams out into the night
A warlock grabs ahold of her mind squeezing tight
Dad is peacefully sleeping the night away it seems
As a crazy clown patiently waits to ruins his dreams
