I was stunned to see that last December 16th, I didn’t write a post. I was almost sure I would have written a makebate response to something or other this close to Christmas. The temptation to succumb to a quirky poem seemed like it would be natural for me. Evidently, I shunned any ideas of doing this and never pictured that a year later I would be giving you this poem today.

This Poem
Nine reindeer land with Santa in tow
Onto your rooftop covered in snow
On a magic night while you snooze
He slips down the chimney without a clue
Putting on a quiet magical show
Looking for milk and a plate of cookies
Santa hasn't the time for playing hookey
Under all the trees need to be placed gifts
As his headphones play a steady funk riff
He heads home to get some nookie
